I love Tacos as much as the next person! But just because we’re on Keto doesn’t mean we have to miss out on what makes tacos amazing, which is the seasoning itself!

The problem with most storebought Taco seasonings is that there are added fillers like anti-caking agents and added sugar. Why does everything need to have sugar in it??? But in this recipe I’m going to show you how to make a delicious and healthy recipe for Taco Seasoning. The great thing about this is that you can tweak it to your liking. You can always add or remove ingredients to make it more or less spicy!

I personally love spicy, so I’ll usually add either ground cayenne or scotch bonnet! The heat will vary as well depending on what chili powder you use. I recommend shopping for Chili powder in the Hispanic isle of your local grocer, they usually have a couple different heat levels of Chili powder and they come in bags. If you don’t want to bother with the store, I got you covered right here.

  • 2 Tsp Oregano
  • ½ Tsp Cayenne, Scotch Bonnet or Other Spicy Pepper Optional

Keto Taco Dressing

  • Cup Hot or Mild Salsa Sugar-Free
  • Cup Sour Cream

Instructions

Keto Taco Seasoning

  • Combine All Dry Ingredients.
¼ Cup Chili Powder, 2 Tbsp Cumin, 2 Tbsp Paprika, 2 Tbsp Sea Salt, 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder, 1 Tbsp Onion Powder, 2 Tsp Oregano, ½ Tsp Cayenne, Scotch Bonnet or Other Spicy Pepper
  • Store in an airtight container for future use!

Keto Taco Salad

  • Heat skillet to medium-high, then add about a Tablespoon of Coconut or Olive Oil. Don't use Vegetable oils.
  • Brown and crumble meat in skillet.
  • When meat is about 90% browned, add chopped onions. Add about 1 Tbsp of Low-Sodium Soy Sauce to facilitate flavor and browning.
  • Once onions are cooked to your liking, add 2 - 3 Tbsp of taco seasoning. Stir to combine, then add the water and stir. The water helps make the Taco seasoned meat a bit saucy.
  • Remove from heat and set aside.

Keto Taco Dressing

  • To a small bowl add ⅓ Cup Sugar-Free Salsa and ⅓ Cup Sour Cream
  • Stir until well combined!

Assemble everything!

  • Add your chopped romain hearts
  • Add chopped tomatoes
  • Add cooked meat (however much you'd like!)
  • Top with Dressing and if you have them, sliced Jalapenos.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

You'll notice in the video I used a meat crumbler to... well, crumble the meat! This is way faster than using a spatula. I love speeding up my workflow in the kitchen. I recommend this one which you can purchase on Amazon*:
